The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a registered charity, established in 1840, to prevent cruelty to animals and is now Ireland’s largest animal welfare organisation.
The DSPCA was running a proprietary CMS and found it difficult to use. They wanted a more user-friendly system and were already familiar with WordPress and happy to go with it.
However the content from the old site had to be manually transferred which turned into quite a labour of love. When the site was finally populated I created an eCommerce solution that would not only enable people to donate, sponsor a pet, etc., but would also facilitate a shop further down the line. That way there would be no duplication of effort.
The site was also made compatible with mobile phones with clear calls to action visible on all screen sizes from mobile to desktop.
